Terms of use
The rules for using the site and for contributing to it. Creating an account means accepting them.
1. Purpose and acceptance
These terms govern the use of Flanbo Ayiti, published by Freddy JEANTY (see the legal notice). Browsing the site implies accepting them; creating an account confirms it.
They come with the privacy policy, which describes how your data is handled. If you do not accept these terms, do not create an account.
2. Access to the site
The site is free. Browsing, the map, the videos, the sheets and the game are open without an account. An account is needed only to contribute, and to keep track of what you have submitted.
The publisher aims to keep the site available but gives no guarantee of continuous access, and may interrupt or change it — including removing a feature — without notice or compensation.
3. Your account
- Creating an account is intended for people aged 15 or over; below that age, a parent or guardian must consent.
- The details you give must be accurate. One person, one account — accounts impersonating someone else or an organisation you do not represent are removed.
- You are responsible for your password and for what is done from your account. Tell us if you think it has been compromised.
- You may delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is permanent.
4. What you publish
Registered users may submit activities, projects, places, photographs and applications. You remain the author of what you submit. You grant the publisher a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display, resize and translate it on the site and its map, for as long as it is published.
By submitting content you confirm that you hold the necessary rights, that it does not infringe anyone else's, and that any identifiable person in a photograph has agreed to it.
You may delete your own activities from your account. Photographs submitted by non-administrators are reviewed before they appear.
5. What is not allowed
The site maps what is being built in Haiti. Anything that works against that is out of place here:
- Unlawful content, in particular incitement to hatred or violence, defamation, harassment, or content endangering people.
- Content infringing third-party rights: photographs, texts, logos or data you are not entitled to publish.
- Deliberately false or misleading information — a project presented as existing when it does not, a false location, an invented figure.
- Advertising unrelated to Haiti's development, spam, mass publishing, and content posted only to promote an unrelated site.
- Personal data about third parties, and anything reproducing another person's private life.
- Automated extraction of the site's content, attempts to circumvent access controls, and any use that degrades service for others.
6. Moderation
The publisher may edit, refuse, unpublish or delete any contribution that breaches these terms, and may suspend or close an account that repeatedly does so. Where reasonable, the reason is given to the author.
To report a contribution — an error, a rights issue, a video or a project you want removed — write to flanbopeyim@gmail.com or use the contact form, describing the content and the problem. Reports are handled promptly.
7. Reusing the site's content
Third-party data keeps its own licence, listed on the data sources page — reuse it under that licence, with the attribution it requires. The site's own design, texts and illustrations belong to the publisher; short quotations with a link back are welcome, wholesale reproduction is not.
Content is provided for information only and is not contractual. It must not be used as the sole basis for an investment, planning or safety decision.
8. Changes and applicable law
These terms may be amended; the version in force is the one published on this page, and a substantial change is announced on the What's new page. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
They are governed by French law. Any dispute will be brought before the competent French courts, failing an amicable settlement.
