Data sources
Every third-party dataset, map layer and asset used on the site, with its licence and a link back to the original.
Before you reuse this
The site is built on open data. Boundaries, roads and risk layers are simplified for display and are not contractual: they must not be used for legal, cadastral or safety purposes. Spotted an error? Tell us — corrections are welcome.
Administrative boundaries

Geography and infrastructure
Extracted from OpenStreetMap through the Overpass API, then frozen in the repository so the map does not depend on a live third-party service.
National road network (RN), bridges, airports and airfields, peaks above 1,300 m, named lakes and ponds, forests and forest parks, and the coordinates of verified places.
Geocoding of the arrondissement county towns.
Risk and humanitarian data
Indicative departmental levels, shown as a map layer. They describe a documented history, not a forecast.
Drought risk (documented 20th-century drought events) and landslide risk (slope deficit, instability, deformation, rupture) by department.
Basemap and terrain
Rendered client-side with MapLibre GL. Loading the map calls the tile provider directly from your browser.
Base map style and terrain-RGB tiles used for the 3D relief.
Map rendering engine.
